Men First, Women Third in Restaino Cup Standings Following Fall Seasons

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - With competition through the fall season complete across the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the Wilmington University athletics department is in a good position in both the men and women's 2017 Restaino Cup Standings.

The men find themselves in a familiar position, winners of the last eight Restaino Cups, in first place with an 11.75-point average with three sports played. The women are off to a good start and are in third place with an 11.3125-point average with four sports played.

The point system used for the award takes into account each athletic program's finish in both the 2017-18 CACC regular season contests and conference tournaments. Each institution receives a combined point total and the sum is then divided by the number of sports the institution sponsors. The CACC will announce the updated Restaino Cup standings following the conclusion of the winter sports season in late March, and then will announce the final standings in late May following the completion of the spring sports season.
