MaryKate Rumbaugh Joins Athletic Department as Sports Information Graduate Intern

NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University athletics department is pleased to announce an addition to the sports information department, as MaryKate Rumbaugh joins the team as a graduate student intern.

The position will assist Coordinator of Sports Information Dan Lauletta in all aspects of the sports information field including maintaining the athletics website (athletics.wilmu.edu), creating game programs, official scorekeeper and stats compilation, providing streaming capabilities for home events, and maintaining all social media accounts, among other sports information related job duties.

Rumbaugh joins Wilmington after graduating from Mansfield University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication: Sports Information with a minor in Business Administration. She was a four-year member of the Mounties women's basketball team, helping the team to the PSAC Tournament for the first time in 11 years as a senior.

While not on the court, Rumbaugh was a Sports Information Intern and athletics work study student assistant for Mansfield sports information director Ryan McNamara, with one of her many jobs being to produce and operate the video stream for live sporting events using Production Truck, a product Wilmington and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference signed a deal with this summer through Blue Frame technologies for the creation of the CACC Network. She was also able to learn from one of the longtime greats in the field of sports information in Steve McCloskey before his retirement.

Rumbaugh will be earning her Master's of Science in Management while working for the athletics department, specializing in the Sports Management concentration.
