Wilmington Earns 25 Student-Athletes on 2018 CACC Fall All-Academic Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Fall All-Academic Teams have been announced by Commissioner Dan Mara, with Wilmington University placing 25 student-athletes on the list for their respective sports.

Men's soccer led all fall athletic teams with seven members, while women's soccer, women's volleyball, and women's cross country all earned four members. Women's tennis was right behind with three members, with men's cross country earning two members, and golf, with one member.

The CACC named a total of 269 student-athletes to the All-Academic Team concluding all seven fall championships.

Men's Soccer's, Daniel Loyo, Manuel Ruiz Luque, cross country's Miguel Suero, Tori Crawford, and Tara Langan, as well as volleyball's Jenna Brown and Miranda Shaw all earned the CACC All-Academic for the third time in their careers. Dimitrios Topouliz and Sam Jester of men's soccer, along with Begona Gomar of women's tennis, women's cross country's Gabrielle Brown, and volleyball's Emma Kongevold earned it for the second time in their careers.

Across the CACC, women's soccer led all fall sports with 64 members across 13 teams followed by men's soccer's 62 with 13 programs.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
