Five Wildcats Earn Spot on 2021-2022 CACC Winter All-Academic Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Five Wilmington University basketball standouts have earned a spot on the 2021-22 Central Atlantic Collegiate Winter All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference offense earlier this week.

The women were led by three student-athletes on the All-Academic Team while the men's team placed two student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.

The women's team is led by three-time honoree Kiara Eubanks while two-time honoree Emily Ansah was also on the list. The Wildcats added first-timer Jade Roberts to the list of 49 honorees across nine of the 13 CACC member institutions.

The men's team garnered a pair of two-time honorees in graduate-student Danny Walsh and sophomore Caleb Matthews. The men's team featured 23 student-athletes spread across 12 of the 13 schools that compete in the CACC.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

WOMEN'S ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Twelve (12) of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Seventeen (17) of the honorees made the CACC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team for the second time.
  • Twelve (12) of the honorees made the All-Academic squad for the third time.
  • Three of the honorees made the All-Academic team for the fourth time.

MEN'S ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Fourteen (14) of the honorees made the CACC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team for the second time.
