Continuing Eligibility

As a student athlete at Wilmington University, you will be required to maintain satisfactory progress towards graduation. Below is a list of some of these requirements.

  • All student-athletes must successfully complete:
    • Nine (9) hours per term to be eligible next term
    • Eighteen (18) hours during the academic year (summer classes cannot be used)
    • Twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start of your second year
      • AND
  • Declare a major before the third year of enrollment (and after that point, all classes must be degree applicable)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00
  • All student-athletes must:
    • Be enrolled full time.
      • Minimum of 12 hours (nine (9) at the graduate level)
      • Must have advisor approval to make any course changes (additions, drops, withdrawals)
  • Exception to full-time enrollment:
    • If you require less than 12 hours to graduate in the fall or spring semester, you must:
    • Have advisor provide documentation to be enrolled in less than 12 hours prior to the first day of class for that semester.

Study Tables Program

All first-year Wilmington University student-athletes are required to participate in the Study Tables Program. Students must attend three (3) study sessions per week during their first semester of enrollment. After the first semester, attendance at Study Tables will be based on GPA. Any student-athlete whose current GPA is below 2.75 is required to attend study tables. Failure to do so could result in loss of the opportunity to compete.
