Amanda (Pupillo) Denney joined the Wilmington University athletic training staff in 2008. She is the primary athletic trainer for women's soccer, women's basketball, women's lacrosse, and women's bowling.

Denney graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Athletic Training in 2006. She is a certified athletic trainer with a Delaware State ATC License. She also has certifications in Standard First Aid from the National Safety Council and as a CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross.

Prior to working at Wilmington, Denney was the athletic trainer and exercise technician at Smyrna High School in 2007. She previously worked at Pike Creek Physical Therapy in Hockessin, Del., and PRO Physical Therapy in Wilmington, Del. as well. 

While at the University of Delaware, Denney earned valuable clinical experience at Salesianum High School, PRO Physical Therapy, and working with the Blue Hen student-athletes. She worked closely with the volleyball, football, men's and women's track and field, and women's basketball teams at the University of Delaware. 

Denney actively competes in marathons and triathlons and became an Ironwoman by completing the 2014 IRONMAN Lake Placid competition.
