NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of Wilmington University baseball student-athletes were named Second Team All-National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region today, as voted on by media members throughout the East Region.

Wildcat sophomore pitcher Sean Deely (Wilmington, Del.) and senior outfielder Rocky Ferrier (Perkasie, Pa.) were voted Second Team All-East Region after leading the Wildcats to a 30-21 overall record and the second seed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament.

In his first season as a Wildcat, Deely settled in as the team's ace, going 7-1 in 12 starts. In 72.2 innings pitched, the redshirt sophomore only allowed 13 earned runs, leading to the ninth lowest ERA in program history (1.61) in a single season. Deely finished second in the CACC with 68 strikeouts this year, only allowing 21 walks, finishing seventh in the CACC with an 8.42 K/9 ratio.

Ferrier was the catalyst tin the Wildcats' lineup, starting as the leadoff hitting in 50 of the 51 games. He led the team and finished second in the CACC with a .378 batting average, the sixth best single season average in program history. He also led the CACC with 73 hits on the year, tying for the fourth most in Wildcats' NCAA era. Ferrier went 19-for-24 in stolen bases, ranking third in the CACC. He was also hit by a pitch 14 times, leading to the fourth highest on-base percentage in the CACC (.455). He was eighth in the league in scoring 41 runs as well. He finished the year with eight doubles, two triples, and 20 RBI.

Both Ferrier and Deely were named First Team All-CACC honorees earlier this month.
