    The bats came alive for the Wilmington University baseball team, as they scored four in the first and five in the third to jump all over Merrimack in an elimination game at teh 2018 NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament. Zach Rumford went 6.1 innings and the bullpen nailed down the 10-5 final for the Wildcats to stay alive. Kendall Small went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored while Nick Grant went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. The Wildcats scored 10 runs on 10 hits in the game.   • Baseball vs. St. Thomas Aquinas - Regionals

    The seventh seeded Wildcats fell in the opener of the 2018 NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament, 8-3, to second seeded St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday. The Wildcats had chances early, but couldn't convert while the Spartans had an unearned run in the second and added another in the fifth to lead 2-0. The Spartans got to the Wildcats' bullpen late in the game, finishing off the 8-3 victory. Christian Adorno homered for the Wildcats while Brooks Ryan went 2-for-4 with an RBI double.   • Baseball vs Felician in CACC Championship

    The Wildcats needed to win two games against Felician on Sunday to claim their seventh CACC Tournament Championship, and that is exactly what they did. In a pressure packed first game, it was a Brooks Ryan 10th inning two-run triple that was the deciding factor after an outstanding performance from senior Chuck Delagol. In the winner-take-all game, the Wildcats scored early and gave senior Nick Grant a 7-0 lead in the top of the sixth, with the big hit coming from senior Christian Adorno, a three-run double to right field. Nick Grant was named the CACC Tournament MVP for his stellar play in left, at the plate, and pitching seven strong innings in the championship game. Brad Scull, Chuck Delagol, Kendall Small, and Dakota Graham were also named to the All-Tournament Team. The Wildcats earn the CACC's automatic berth into the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament starting Thursday. Interviews with head coach Brian August, Chuck Delagol, and Nick Grant. Kendall Small went 5-for-8 on the day, including 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI against Post. Zach Rumford battled through 6.1 innings for the win and Justin Mears pitched two innings for the save.     The Wilmington University baseball team rode the strong arm of junior Brad Scull to a complete game shutout victory, 5-0, over Post in the first game of the double elimination portion of the 2018 CACC Tournament. The offense provided Scull with a 2-0 lead in the top of the second, and that was all he needed as he struck out 10 in the complete game shutout, allowing only six hits with no walks. Kendall Small went 3-for-4 while Brooks Ryan batted 2-for-5 with a two-run double. Dakota Graham and Nick Macey added RBI's as well. The Wildcats move on to face Felician in the winners bracket.     The Wildcats used strong pitching from Zach Rumford, Brad Scull, and Justin Mears to get past Nyack in an elimination game to begin the 2018 CACC Tournament, 2-0, on Saturday at Wilson Field. Zach Rumford escaped a two-on jam in the third and the offense answered with two runs in the bottom half. That was more than enough for Rumford, as he went seven scoreless before passing it on to Scull for the eighth. Mears picked up his 10th save of the year, ending the game with a double-play. The Wildcats play the winner of Post/Goldey-Beacom on Thursday to begin the double elimination potion of the tournament, hosted by Post University.
