Quintin Ivy and Dan Hyatt Named First Team D2CCA All-East Region

NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of Wilmington University baseball student-athletes have been named All-Region as a pair of organizations have announced their postseason awards following the 2021 season.

Redshirt junior outfielder Quintin Ivy (Camden, Del.) has been named First Team All-East Region by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) while redshirt senior utility player Dan Hyatt (Newark, Del.) has earned D2CCA First Team honors as well.

It is the first time in his career that Ivy has been named All-Region, getting the nod after an outstanding offensive performance in 2021. The outfielder finished with a slash line of .398/.509/.807 while leading the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with 12 doubles and finished second overall with eight homers. He led the Wildcats with 36 RBI while also leading the team with 29 runs scored on the year.

He was named the NCBWA East Region Player of the Week twice this year, doing so in back-to-back weeks. During that two-week stretch, he batted 17-for-31 (.548) with five doubles, four homers, 19 RBI, and 13 runs scored. He had a season high six RBI in one game, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, a homer, and four runs scored against Nyack.

It is the second time that Dan Hyatt has been named All-Region in his career, as he was also a D2CCA First Teamer in 2019. The two-way player hit .313 in his final year as a Wildcat, collecting five doubles, a triple, and one homer with nine RBI and 16 runs scored. He also finished with a .463 on-base percentage and a .469 slugging percentage on the year.

On the mound, Hyatt was second on the team with 32.1 innings pitched on the year, but led the staff with 37 strikeouts and a 10.30 K/9 ratio. The hard throwing righty was bitten by the longball this year, finishing with a 2-4 record and a 5.29 ERA. He had a career high eight strikeouts in two different stints this year, first in five innings against Felician and again in seven innings against Goldey-Beacom. Hyatt closes his outstanding career with a 15-9 record to go along with 10 saves and a 10.44 K/9 ratio.
