Six Wildcats Named to 2021 CACC Baseball All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Sixty-five (65) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2020-21 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 65 honorees represent all 12 CACC member institutions that have a varsity program in the sport.

The Wilmington University baseball team placed six on the 2021 CACC Baseball All-Academic Team, anchored by three-time honoree Dan Hyatt. Hyatt earned a 3.60 undergraduate GPA and carried a 3.56 cumulative GPA while earning his MSM in sports management this past year. The Wildcats also had a two-time honoree in Tyler Campbell who earned a 3.85 undergraduate GPA and is studying for his MBA with a 3.62 cumulative GPA. Sophomores Rich Albrecht (3.66 GPA in health sciences), Justin Brooks (3.92 GPA in business analytics), Xander Emberger (3.83 GPA in psychology), and Alex Hinton (3.70 GPA in finance) were also named All-Academic.

Thomas Jefferson University, which advanced to the 2021 CACC Baseball Championship Final, led the way with 12 honorees, including Bryce Herman's team-best 3.99 cumulative undergraduate grade point average in his major of finance, followed by a 4.0 GPA in his master's work in innovation (MBA). University of the Sciences was next with 11 student-athletes being recognized, including Ryan Hess, who had the top GPA on his squad with a 3.93 in biophysics. Post University was the other team with double-figure honorees, as 10 Eagles made the academic team. The highest Post GPA belonged to Harry Allegra with a 3.95 in legal studies.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Eight of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Eleven of the honorees made the CACC Baseball All-Academic Team for the second time.
  • Nine of the honorees made the All-Academic squad for at least the third time.
