DALLAS, Texas - - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association recently announced its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on April 23, 2023. Junior pitcher Matt Warrington was named the National and East Regional Pitcher of the Week
Warrington (Millsboro, Delaware) put on an impressive performance by throwing a 7-inning complete game shutout with 13 strikeouts against Alliance University on April 19. He faced the minimum 21 batters as the two hits were caught stealing and picked off. He did not walk a batter and only allowed two hits. The 13 strikeouts set a new career high for Warrington, making this an even more impressive feat. Warrington currently sits atop the CACC in ERA at 2.28, tied for first in wins (6) and second in strikeouts with 74.
Matt Warrington and the Wildcats round out their final doubleheader of the regular season with a road trip to the Dominican University on Sunday, April 30, starting at 11:30 AM.
