Now in his eighth season, Dennis Walker joined the Wildcat staff in 2014 for his first season with the Wilmington University baseball program. He comes to Wilmington after a successful and tenured career at Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Del. Walker will work with the Wildcat catchers, both defensively and offensively.

Walker is currently completing his 28th year as a health and physical education teacher at Salesianum, in addition to working with the baseball, football, and basketball teams. He spent 14 years as the head coach of the baseball team, leading his teams to three DIAA State Championships, four finals appearances, as well as four more semi-finals appearances. Walker has been involved with the Salesianum baseball program for 25 years in many different capacities. In addition to coaching, Walker has established himself as a tutor for young catchers in the Wilmington, Del., area.

Prior to coaching, Walker was a four-year member of the West Chester University baseball team as a catcher, graduating in 1980.

Walker and his wife, Lori, reside in Pike Creek, Del., and have three children; Kevin, a DeSales University graduate and a history teacher and head boys lacrosse at Delaware Military Academy, Sara, a St. Joseph's University graduate and a second lieutenant in the USMC, and John, a graduate of Salesianum.
