NEWARK, Del. - - The five-time reigning Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Division II Small Coed National Champion Wilmington University cheerleading team is at it again, looking for its sixth straight national title when they compete at the 2017 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Florida on January 13-15.

But that won't be the first time they will be performing their National Championship routine, as they will be holding a send-off party at the WU Athletics Complex on Monday, January 9 at 6:00 p.m.

In addition to the team routine, the Wildcats will also be sending three stunt groups to the national competition, led by two all-girl stunt groups and a co-ed group. Fans in attendance at the send-off will also be able to check out the three stunt group routines in addition to the team routine. Doors to the complex open at 5:45 p.m. with the routines starting at 6:00 p.m.

Once down in Orlando, the all-girl group of Alyssa Haines, Dominque Tee, Alyssa Kalafut, and Corinne Carney will hit the mats first, putting on their routine for the judges on Friday, January 13 at 8:18 p.m. The co-ed partner group of Matthew Henry-Marshall and Wendy Mayerson is the second Wildcat team to hit the mats, going off at 8:45 p.m. The all-girl group of Ciana Perez, MaKayla Moreland, Maranda Moreland, and Kristen Basquill directly follow the co-ed group at 8:48 p.m. to round out the Wildcats in action on Friday night.

New to the 2017 competition, the Division II Small Coed group will have a semifinal round with the Wildcats performing in front of the judges at 12:13 p.m. on Saturday, January 14. The teams will then be ranked into the final seven championship spots with finalist routines starting at 2:30 p.m. for Division II Small Coed. The scores and awards will be announced at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In preparation for the National Championships, the Wildcats will also be performing their routine at the Victory Viper Showcase at Delaware Valley University this coming Friday night, at halftime of the Wilmington women's basketball game on Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex, and at the Garden State Championship in Bridgewater, New Jersey, on Sunday.

Come out on Monday night to help the Wildcats strive for their sixth straight UCA Division II Small Coed National Championship with the team send-off at the WU Athletics Complex.
