Wildcats Shoot 633 to Sit in 15th after Two Rounds at Otter Invitational

The Wilmington University golf team sits in 15th place after two rounds at the Otter Invitational hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course with sophomore Freddy Braun leading the team in a tie for 30th overall.

The Wildcats shot a 324 in the first round and bounced back with a 309 in the afternoon, finishing the first day of the tournament with a 633, 57-over par score. The team is five stroke behind CSU-Stanislaus and three strokes ahead of Valdosta State.

Braun's nine-over 153 leads the team and as he is tied for 30th overall while Andreas Lunding's 78-76, 154 puts him at 10-over par and in a tie for 36th overall.

Sam Clark shot an 85-77 for a two-round score of 162, 18-over par to sit in a tie for 73rd overall. Jordan Lamb rounded out the Wildcat scoring on Monday with an 83-81 for a two-round score of 164, 20-over par to sit in a tie for 83rd overall. Senior Alexander Lautenschlaeger was the fifth and final team participant for the Wildcats, shooting an 85-82 for a 167, 23-over par score after two rounds.

Playing as an individual, Alex Healy is in a tie for 56th overall after shooting a 79-78 for a 157. He is in the clubhouse at 13-over par after the first day. Senior Matt DiEleuterio also played as an individual and shot an 83-81 for a two-round score of 164 to sit in a tie for 83rd overall.

Nova Southeastern leads the tournament after the first day with a two round score of 584, leading the pack by four strokes at eight-over par. The Sharks Richard Mansell and host CSU-Monterey Bay's Robby Salomon sit atop the leaderboard at two-under par, each shooting a 142 in the first two rounds.

The Otter Invitational concludes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course starting at 8:00 a.m. Pacific time.
