Miguel Siercke Tied Atop the Leaderboard at the Quechee Division II Challenge For Wilmington Golf

QUECHEE, Vt. - - Senior Miguel Siercke shot a 68 and is tied for the lead after the first round of the Quechee Division II Challenge hosted by Southern New Hampshire University at the Quechee Club on Monday.

The five Wildcats are playing as individuals at the Quechee Division II Challenge, but played well enough to be in second place with a 288 if they were playing as a team. St. Thomas Aquinas leads the field of 13 teams with a 287 (-1) after the first round.

Siercke is tied with St. Thomas Aquinas' Kevin Gately with a 68 (-4), leading the field of 78 by a single stroke. Senior Sam Clark shot an even par 72 on Monday, and sits in a tie for seventh overall after one round.

Junior transfer Zac Moore is in a tie for 12th after the first round, shooting a 73 (+1) in his first round as a Wildcat. Senior Freddy Braun finished with a 75 (+3) on Monday and sits in a tie for 19th overall. Freshman Jack Dixon rounded out the Wildcats at the Quechee Club with a 78 in his first collegiate contest and sits in a tie for 41st overall.

The Wildcats close out the Quechee Division II Challenge on Tuesday with the second round.
