AVONDALE, Pa. - - The Wilmington University golf team placed three student-athletes in the top three, including Troy Miller earning medalist honors at the Griffin Invitational on Tuesday at the Inniscronne Golf Club hosted by Chestnut Hill College.

Playing as individuals, the four Wildcats finished first, second, tied for third, and tied for 13th overall. The 302 scored by the four players would have won the Griffin Invitational but Nyack too home the team trophy with a 312 on Tuesday. Host Chestnut Hill took second with a 322 while Philadelphia rounded out the top three with a 330.

Miller shot a 70 in the one-round tournament at Inniscronne, earning an even par score for the day. He beat teammate Matthew Kettleson, and the field, by three strokes. Kettleson's 73 (+3) was second overall while freshman Braden McKay tied for third overall with a 76 (+6).

Freshman Jack Dixon rounded out the Wildcats on the course on Tuesday, shooting an 83 (+13) to finish in a tie for 13th overall.

The Wildcats will now compete amongst each other to earn a spot on the team that will play at the GolfRank Invitational in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on October 24-25.
