BERLIN, Md. - - Playing two rounds to complete the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational on Monday, the Wilmington University golf team finished third overall with a 296-300 for a 596 (+20) at the Rum Pointe Golf Course near Ocean City, Maryland.

The home team and host Spartans won the event with a 284-288 for a 572 (-4) while Dominican placed second with a 299-296 for a 295 (+19). St. Thomas Aquinas' Michael Miranda and Brendan Hunter earned medalist honors with a 141 (-3) for the day, with Hunter shooting a 68 in the second round to comeback and tie his teammate.

Zac Moore paced the Wildcats by finishing in a tie for third place overall, finishing one stroke off the leaders. Moore led after the first round with a 68 and posted a 74 in the nightcap to finish with a 142 (-2) for the day.

Senior Miguel Siercke was two strokes off the pace set by Moore, shooting identical 72-72 for a 144 even par day. He finished in sixth overall and was only one of six players to shoot par or better for the invite.

Ryan Rucinski finished in a tie for 23^rd overall with an 80-74 for a 154 (+10) while Joey Russo posted a 158 (+14) with rounds of 78-80. Sam Clark rounded out the Wildcats by finishing in a tie for 40^th overall, shooting 78-82 for a 160 (+16).

Four individuals played well for the Wildcats on Monday, led by Troy Miller's fifth place finish. Miller posted scores of 74-69 for a 143 (-1), just two strokes off the leaders.

Braden McKay finished tied for 11^th overall with a 72-75 for a 147 (+3) while Jack Dixon followed closely with a 148 (+4) and a 15^th place finish. Dixon posted rounds of identical 74-74. Matthew Kettleson rounded out the Wildcats on the course on Monday by placing in a tie for 29^th overall, shooting a 156 (+12) with rounds of 75-81.

Next on the schedule for the Wildcats are the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships in which the Wildcats are shooting for their seventh consecutive conference crown. The two-day tournament begins Tuesday, April 25.
