Wilmington Golf Finishes Successful 2017 Fall Season at Miami Intercollegiate

DORAL, Fla. - - The Wilmington University golf team finished its 2017 fall season with a 304 in the third round at the Miami Intercollegiate, finishing 14th overall at the famed Trump National Doral Red Tiger Course on Tuesday morning.

The Wildcats' 304 closed out a three-round score of 910, posting scores of 315-291-304.

Senior Joey Russo led the Wildcats on Tuesday with a 74 in the final round, finishing in a tie for 65th overall. He finished the tournament with rounds of 82-73-74 for a 229 (+19).

Junior Ryan Rucinski led the Wildcats for the whole tournament, shooting a 76 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 41st overall. He finished with scores of 76-70-76 for a 222 (+12).

Freshman Enrique Valverde moved up a spot to 69th overall with a 75 on Tuesday. He finished with a three-round score of 231 after posting rounds of 81-75-75 for his 21-over par.

Senior Zac Moore rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats on Tuesday with a third round 79. He posted scores of 80-77-79 for a 236 (+26), finishing in a tie for 75th overall.

Freshman Sergio Ronchel closed out the Wildcats' team play on the course with an 82 in the third round. He finished in a tie for 71st overall, posting scores of 78-73-82 for a 233 (+23).

Playing as an individual, Braden McKay moved up a spot on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 77th overall, posting scores of 88-73-80 for a 241 (+31). Matthew Kettleson finished 80th overall with rounds of 81-82-84 for a 247 (+37).

The Wildcats return in the spring to play more regular season tournaments. They will fine-tune their game before heading to the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament starting on Monday, May 7.
