Wilmington Golf Wins Jefferson Quad with a Round of 297

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. - - In its first match in a month, the Wilmington University golf team defeated three other teams at the Jefferson Quad, shooting a 297 at the ACE Club hosted by Jefferson on Tuesday afternoon.

The Wildcats won the event by 15 strokes, finishing ahead of Goucher College who shot a 312. Chestnut Hill finished third with a 322 while Jefferson finished last with a 337.

Teammates Zac Moore and Sergio Ronchel led the pack of 20 golfers by each shooting a 73. Joey Russo finished third in the field with a 74 while Enrique Valverde rounded out the Wildcats' soring with a round of 77. Ryan Rucinski finished off the Wildcats with a 78 on Tuesday.

With their first round in a month out of the way, the Wildcats head to their next tournament starting on Monday, April 2. The Wildcats head back to the Sunshine State to take part in the Battle at the Shores, hosted by Barry University. The two-day, three-round tournament will be played the Normandy Shores Golf Course in Miami Beach, Florida.
