NEWARK, Del. - - The postseason begins quickly for the Wilmington University golf team now as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament will take place in the fall for the season year in a row in 2018. The Wildcats will participate in four tournaments in the fall prior to an NCAA postseason run in the spring.
The Wildcats begin their fall season with their annual trip to St. Augustine, Florida, to compete in the Jay Jennison Cup, hosted by Flagler College. The two-day, three-round tournament begins on Monday, September 24 at the Slammer and Squire.
That is all the tournament preparation the Wildcats will get before heading into the CACC Championships starting on Sunday, September 30. The Wildcats will once again host the CACC Championships, this year at the Deerfield Golf Course in Newark, Delaware. The Wildcats will be looking for their ninth consecutive CACC Championship by defeating the other eight participating schools.
Following the CACC Championships at Deerfield, the Wildcats will head to the Shark Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The two-day, three-round tournament begins on Monday, October 8.
The final tournament of the fall season will back north, as the Wildcats will head to the California Vulcan Invitational in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The tournament will be at the site of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional in May, the Totteridge Golf Course hosted by California (Pa.).
