NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Fifteen (15) student-athletes on Monday were named to the 2020-21 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 15 honorees represent eight of the nine CACC member institutions that have a varsity program in the sport.
Wilmington University led the way with three honorees, including Nathan Potts' team-best 3.75 cumulative grade point average in his major of finance. Chestnut Hill College, Concordia College, Felician University, Goldey-Beacom College and Post University each followed by posting a pair of honorees apiece.
In addition to Potts, the Wildcats also placed sophomore's Ali Ladak (3.67 GPA, business management) and Tyler Cleaves (3.50 GPA, business management) on the 2020-21 CACC Golf All-Academic Team.
Felician University's Adrian Mayorga led the way with a perfect 4.0 GPA in his post-graduate work in business administration. He also notched a 3.64 GPA in his undergraduate work as well. Thomas Jefferson University's Nick Franchi logged the highest undergraduate GPA with a mark of 3.98 in his major law & society. He was also the Top XVI Award Winner at the Spring 2021 CACC Men's Golf Championship back in April. Post's Felix Hinderthuer was the other student-athlete to notch a GPA of 3.90 or higher, as he had a 3.91 mark in his major of business administration.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Both of Felician's honorees, Mayorga and Gonzalo Maldonado Felices, were the two golfers to be named to the All-Academic Team for the second time in their respective careers.
- Franchi was the lone standout to be named to the all-academic squad for the third time.
