Golf Shoots 634 in Final Regular Season Tournament at Super Regional Site

VICTOR, N.Y. - - In the final tune-up prior to the postseason, the Wilmington University golf team finished tied for 21st on the course they will play at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional next month.

Davis & Elkins won the Super Regional Preview at Ravenwood Golf Club, hosted by Le Moyne, with a 595 (+19). The Wildcats shot rounds of 321-313 for a 634 (+58) to finish in a tie for 21st.

The Wildcats were led by freshman Pablo Quintero who moved up 15 spots on day two to finish in a tie for seventh overall. He shot rounds of 76-74 for a 150 (+6), seven shots off the leader. Quintino finished tied for ninth in the tournament with 25 pars and tied for 10th overall in Par 5 Scoring at one-under par in the two rounds. He was also tied for sixth in the tournament on Par 4 Scoring, shooting three-over in the two rounds.

Sophomore Matthew Pulgini finished in a tie for 21st in the big field, shooting rounds of 75-78 for a 153 (+9). Pulgini finished tied for 2nd in the tournament in Par 3 Scoring, shooting even par on all the par-three holes in the two rounds.

Sophomore Tyler Cleaves improved his second round by seven strokes, moving up 25 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 57th overall. He shot rounds of 82-75 for a 157 (+13). Cleaves tied Quintero in 10th overall on Par 5 Scoring, finishing one-under par on all the par five holes in the two rounds.

Junior Nathan Potts shot rounds of 88-86 for a 174 (+30) to finish in 114th overall while freshman Jan Lekes shot round of 88-89 for a 177 (+33) to finish in 115th place.

The NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional will begin Thursday, May 5. The Wildcats will play three rounds in three days at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, New York, vying for a spot to go to the NCAA Division II Championships.
