2013-14 Season (Junior): Started all 28 games in first season as a Wildcat – finished second with a 11.9 points per game average – finished second in dishing out 89 assists and picking up 47 steals – scored 14 points in first career game – finished with 21 games in double digits – scored a season’s best 26 points against Philadelphia, shooting 11-of-14 from the floor – added a 20 point game against Chestnut Hill, going 10-of-10 from the foul line – dished out a season’s nest seven assist twice, first against Merrimack in the season opener and at Georgian Court on December 18 – grabbed a season’s best 10 rebounds at Nyack, as part of his lone double-double (11 points) on January 25.

Prior to Wilmington University: One year at Brookdale Community College as point guard – helped team to a 33-1 record and NJCAA National and Regional Championships – received First Team NJCAA All-American honors – First Team All-National Tournament Team –First Team All-Region award – NJCAA Region 19 Player of the Year – NJCAA Division III National Player of the Year – Dean’s List

High School: Monmouth Regional High School point guard – lead the team to a 23-4 record with a Group 3 Championship – Received Second Team All shore honors in 2010 – Broke record for most points (1,244) – Broke record for most steals (350)

Personal: Valentino C. Thompson – Son of Cheryl Person – has one older sibling, Challisa Royster –  majoring in criminal justice at Wilmington University with aspirations to be a state trooper or in the FBI – from Tinton Falls, N.J. – favorite athlete is Dwayne Wade – his most memorable sports moment is when he helped his team to the NJCAA National Championship – the perfect prepared meal would be fried chicken, corn bread, mac & cheese, candy yams, collard greens black eye peas, and string beans – considers his mother his hero because “she was a single parent that never gave up on herself or her children.” – if he could be the head coach of a team for a year, he would want to coach Duke University.
