NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Following a pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division victories last week, a pair of Wilmington University men's basketball student-athletes headline this week's CACC Players of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

After a career game against Georgian Court, sophomore Miles Gillette (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) was named the CACC Player of the Week while redshirt sophomore Jermaine Head (Edgewood, Md./Joppatowne) continued his torrid stretch to earn CACC Rookie of the Week honors. It is the first time Gillette has been honored by the CACC while this is the second week Head has been named the CACC Rookie of the Week (11/21).

Gillette has been a double-double machine of late, collecting his fifth of the season with a career offensive game on Saturday against Georgian Court. He shot 12-of-18 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from deep and 6-of-7 from the foul line to pour in 34 points. He took over the second half against the Lions, going 8-of-10 from the floor (3-of-4 from deep) for 20 points in the victory. He also grabbed a career best 14 rebounds in the game, nine of which came in the first half.

In the first game of the week, Gillette didn't reach double figures in scoring for the first time in eight games, but his field goals came at the right time. He shot 3-of-13 from the floor against the Griffins, but sank the final two buckets of the game for the Wildcats, including the game-winner at the buzzer to defeat Chestnut Hill, 67-65. He finished with eight points but had a game-high 13 rebounds. Gillette averaged 21 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor for the week.

Head had a terrific first half at Chestnut Hill, nearly hitting all his shots en route to 23 points. He went 9-of-11 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from three-point territory in the first half alone. He finished with a game-high 29 points, hitting six three-pointers while adding five steals, four assists, and four rebounds from the point guard position.

Although his 20-point scoring streak of four straight games ended against Georgian Court, Head poured in 18 points while shooting 8-of-11 from the floor in the blowout win. While not scoring, he picked up his other teammates, dishing out eight assists with only one turnover against the Lions. He added five steals in the game, moving into second overall in the CACC with 33 steals this season. He averaged 23.5 points per game while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor for the week. Head added 2.5 rebounds, six assists, and five steals per game last week.

Rounding out the men's basketball weekly honors is Goldey-Beacom's Dante Thompson who earned the CACC's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

On the women's side, the Wildcat's Macy Robinson was named to the Honor Roll after scoring a career high 29 points (26 in the second half) while hitting six three-pointers in a comeback victory over Georgian Court on Saturday.

Both Wildcat teams return to action when they head to Caldwell on Wednesday night for a CACC doubleheader. The women start the double dip with an opening tip at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at approximately 7:30 p.m.
