PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - - The high scoring duo of Nick Richards and Jermaine Head earned another postseason accolade for the Wilmington University men's basketball team, being named to the 2017-18 City of Basketball Love Division II All-Area Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The backcourt duo helped the Wildcats to a 16-13 overall record, going 11-8 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to earn a spot in the CACC Tournament for the second year in a row.

Nick Richards (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) led the team and was second in the CACC in scoring, pouring in 20.6 points per game, leading the league in scoring 21.2 points per game against conference opponents. He was also second on the team and 13th in the CACC in grabbing 6.3 rebounds a contest and second on the team and ninth in the CACC in dishing out 3.8 assists per game. Defensively, he was third in the CACC in picking off 2.3 steals a contest. Richards reached double figures in all but two of the 22 games played this year, including 30 or more points three times with a season high 34-point outing at Goldey-Beacom on February 18.

Jermaine Head (Edgewood, Md./Joppatowne) finished second on the team and fourth in the CACC in scoring 18.5 points per game. He led the CACC in dishing out 4.7 assists per game, while also pulling in 5.3 rebounds a contest. Defensively, he picked up 2.1 steals per game, ranking fourth in the CACC. Head turned it on down the stretch of the season, scoring 20 or more points in the team's last six games, averaging 24.2 points per game in those contests. He scored a season high 32 points in a come-from-behind victory at Millersville on November 15 and dished out a season high 12 assists against Concordia on January 13.

Richards was named First Team All-CACC earlier this month while Head was named to the Second Team All-CACC as well as the CACC Rookie of the Year.
