NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - A pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victories over Holy Family before the holiday break led to two Wilmington University student-athletes to be named CACC Players of the Week on Monday, as announced by the conference office.

Men's basketball's Tyler Norwood (Chester, Pa./Penncrest) was named the CACC Rookie of the Week while women's basketball counterpart Macy Robinson (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth's) was named a CACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

In two games before the break, Norwood averaged 22.5 points per game while shooting at a 59 percent clip from the floor. In the team's game against NCAA Division I opponent Morgan State, he poured in 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, hitting 3-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc. He followed that game up with a 24 point performance against Holy Family, shooting 7-of-12 from the floor while hitting on 6-of-10 from long distance. For the week, he made 16-of-27 (59.3%) from the floor, including 9-of-18 from three-point territory.

Robinson helped lead the Wildcats to their first win of the season, beating Holy Family before the break. She tied a career best with 15 rebounds, 12 of which came on the defensive side of the floor. She also poured in 17 points in the win, hitting 3-of-6 from distance, for the double-double. The graduate student also dished out two assists and picked up three steals in the win.

Dominican's Tavon Ginyard and Jefferson's Alexander Gorton were named the CACC Co-Players of the Week while Post's Abdul-Basit Ajia was named the Defensive Player of the Week on the men's side.

USciences' Irisa Ye was named the Women's Basketball Player of the Week while Nyack's Elle Nittinger was named the Rookie of the Week. Robinson shared the Defensive Player of the Week with Jefferson's Jessica Kaminski.

The Wildcats open the 2019 schedule on Wednesday at Georgian Court.
