NEWARK, Del. - - Redshirt senior Jermaine Head becomes the first player in Wilmington University men's basketball program history to be named a two-time All-Region performer, earning a second straight Second Team Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-East Region nod.
Jermaine Head (Edgewood, Md./Joppatowne) was a First Team All-Conference selection for the second straight year, and helped lead the Wildcats to the CACC Tournament Semifinals this year.
The senior led the CACC and was fourth in the East Region in scoring 23 points per game. But he wasn't just a scorer, as he was fourth in the East Region in dishing out 163 assists this season. Defensively, he led the entire East Region with 71 steals.
Head scored in double figures in all but one game this year, and 20 or more points in 19 games. He also had five games with 30 or more points, including a new career high and program's second best 41 points on January 25 at Nyack.
With his illustrious career now over, Head finishes as the program's all-time leader with 1,871 points, 450 assists, and 206 steals. He averaged 21.5 points per game in his career, also a program best in the NCAA era.
Daemen's Andrew Sischo repeated as the East Region Player of the Year, averaging a double-double with 24.9 points and 11.7 rebounds a game.
