Coach Ronald Solomone enters his third season at Wilmington University going into the 2023-24 year.

Prior to Wilmington University, coach Solomone worked as a volunteer coach at NJCAA D3 Camden County College for Head Coach Lou Abbattista. From 2016-2020, the overall record was 69-49, with every team making the Region 19 playoffs, with the 2016-2017 team making the Region 19 championship after knocking off the nationally ranked #2 Passaic CC in the semifinal. Coach Solomone’s main duties were to recruit the Tri-State area along with scouting and implementing game plans.

In 2013, Coach Solomone was proudly brought aboard of Head Coach Jim Rullo’s first staff at NCAA DIII Neumann University, where he served as assistant coach. In two years, Neumann’s teams went on to accumulate a 37-21 overall record, culminating in a CSAC league championship and qualifying for the 2014-15 NCAA DIII Tournament. This was the school's first league championship and NCAA DIII Tournament nomination. That 2014-2015 team would go on to lose their opening game against nationally ranked #19 Mount Union to end their cinderella run. Coach Solomone was brought aboard to recruit the Tri-State area, targeting the Philadelphia area, either high school or transfer prospect.

Coach Solomone also brings prior NCAA DII to Wilmington University due to his time spent at Bridgeport University on Mike Ruane’s staff. During his three years starting with the 2007 season, UB’s teams went on to accumulate a 59-34 overall record, along with an ECC league championship in 2008-2009 and two NCAA DII Tournament runs, each ending in the 1st Round to the same opponent in Bentley University. Along with the duty of recruiting the Philadelphia and Tri-State area high school or transfer prospect, coach Solomone was tasked to assist in scheduling individual workouts, with an added focus on players jump shots.

After coach Solomone’s playing career was finished in 2001 playing for his NJCAA Hall of Fame coach Steve Solomone, coach Solomone joined Rick Jackson’s staff at Gloucester CC to begin his coaching career. Coach Solomone would go on to coach at Gloucester CC for six seasons, with those teams accumulating 163-36 overall record. During these six seasons, every team went on to qualify for the Region 19 Playoffs, with three of the teams winning the Region 19 Championship and earning a trip to the NJCAA Championship. The best finish came in the 2005-2006 season, where the team finished 26-8 and lost in the NJCAA National Championship game. The 2003-2004 team finished fourth in the country and the 2006-2007 team finished seventh.

Coach Solomone graduated from Rowan University with his Undergrad in General Studies, then went on to graduate from Wilmington University with his Master’s in Sports Management.
