Men’s Lacrosse Set for Eight Home Contests, as Head Coach Christian Zwickert Announces 2019 Campaign

NEWARK, Del. - In just their second season as a program, the Wilmington University men's lacrosse team is scheduled to have eight home contests, as head coach Christian Zwickert announces the 2019 schedule.

Coming off their inaugural season with a record of 4-9, 2-3 CACC, the men's lacrosse team looks to push for their second trip to the postseason by being one of the top four teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The men made it to the semifinals of last year's CACC Tournament, before falling to Georgian Court.

The Wildcats will open the 2019 campaign on the road when they travel down to North Carolina to play Montreat College on February 21, before heading to Lees-McRae College February 23 in Banner Elk, North Carolina to take on the Bobcats. WilmU will finish the month of February with their home opener against the University of the District of Columbia on Wednesday, February 27.

To begin March, the Wildcats will have three consecutive home games starting on March 6 against Davis and Elkins College, before a week off until their next contest with Chowan University on Wednesday, March 13. There will be one last home game in March to catch the Wildcats, which will be March 15 against SUNY Polytechnic for a 3:00 p.m. start time. The men will then travel to Norfolk, Virginia to face Barton College on Tuesday, March 26 before heading to North Canton, Ohio to take on Walsh University on March 30.

The men will continue on the road for two more contests, including a matchup with LIU Post on April 2, before beginning CACC play at reigning CACC Champions, Georgian Court on Wednesday, April 10. The Wildcats will have four more CACC contests before ending the regular season, including the last two home contests against Post on April 13 and Dominican on Wednesday, April 24. The team will finish the regular season at Felician College on Saturday, April 27.

The CACC tournament will be hosted at Georgian Court University beginning Thursday, May 2, with the semifinal round, followed by the Championship game on Saturday, May 4.
