Dylan McCleaft and Noah Given Named CACC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Following the team's overtime victory against the District of Columbia, the Wilmington University men's lacrosse team had two players be named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week on Monday.

For his efforts on offence, senior Dylan McCleaft was named a Co-Player of the Week while sophomore Noah Given was named the Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced my the league office on Monday.

Dylan McCleaft (Media, Pa./Penncrest) scored the first three goals for the Wildcats against the Firebirds, and had four of the team's six goals through the first three quarters. His fifth goal came in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, giving the Wildcats a 7-3 lead. In the team's lone game of the week, McCleaft also led the team with seven ground balls.

Noah Given (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) made 17 saves in the victory, including seven in the fourth quarter. His finest save came in the waning seconds of regulation, as the Firebirds had a clear break on goal. Given came up with the save with less than five seconds to play, securing the 9-9 tie and sending the game into overtime.

Men's basketball's Thomas Farrior was again placed on the sport's Weekly Honor roll after scoring 22 points against Holy Family and 21 points to go with 14 rebounds at Goldey-Beacom on Saturday.

Women's basketball's Nyree Grant was also placed on the sport's Weekly Honor Roll, averaging a double-double for the week. She scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Holy Family before scoring 20 points and grabbing 15 rebounds at Goldey-Beacom.
