LAKEWOOD, N.J. - - The Wilmington University men's lacrosse team returns to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament in its second year of existence, earning the No. 3 seed and will play No. 2 and host Georgian Court University on Thursday in the semifinals.
The Wildcats improved by one spot in their second season as a program, advancing to the CACC Tournament in their inaugural season of 2018 as the fourth seed. This yea, the Wildcats finished 3-2 in the CACC and 8-6 overall in the 2019 season.
Wilmington faced off with Georgian Court on Wednesday, April 10, and hung tough with the defending CACC Champions before the Lions pulled away in the fourth quarter for the 16-9 victory.
The Wildcats scored with 13:57 left in regulation to close the gap to 9-8, but the Lions rattled off the next seven goals to widen the margin.
The first semifinal will feature top seeded Chestnut Hill and fourth seeded Dominican at 12:00 p.m., followed the Wildcats and Lions at 3:00 p.m.
