Will Stone Earns CACC Co-Player of the Week After Hat Trick Against Goldey-Beacom

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Men's soccer's Will Stone earned this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Co-Player of the Week for the Wildcats after helping them to a 5-0 victory over Goldey-Beacom to clinch the regular season championship last week.

Stone had three goals and two assists in the Wildcats final game of the regular season. He recorded his first hat trick as a Wildcat, while also tying the program record with eight points in a single game.

The senior forward had one assist and two goals in just the first half against the Lightning. He made a centering pass in the middle through Goldey-Beacom defenders to Sam Jester for the first goal of the game and then came back two minutes later with his own goal in the 12th minute of play. He finished the half with another goal, 23:54 minutes into the game to increase the Wildcats lead, 3-0.

Stone came into the second half with the same energy, as he and Tom Garratt set up Fredrick Bentdal for the fourth goal of the game and then securing the hat trick for himself in the 60th minute off Tom Garratt's free kick.

He currently sits fourth in the CACC with 11 goals heading into the postseason, while ranking second with 13 assists, second in the league with 35 points, and tied for third in the conference with 54 shots.

Stone earned the Co-Player of the Week with Bloomfield's Regsan Watkins.

Teammate, Tom Garratt, earned a spot on the weekly honor roll for dishing out three assists in the 5-0 victory. He ranks fifth in the CACC with 10 goals, third in the league in assists with eight, and sits tied for third with 31 points.
