Nick Papanicolas Signs Arturo Serano to Wilmington Men’s Soccer 2019 Squad

NEWARK, Del. - - Wilmington University men's soccer head coach Nick Papanicolas announces the signing of established high school talent Arturo Serano to the 2019 club.

"We are very excited to have Arturo as a part of our family and program here at WilmU," Papanicolas said. "He is a very skilled and composed center midfielder that we feel will fit right in with our style of play."

Serano will come to Wilmington University after a very successful campaign at Washington Township High School in Sewell, New Jersey. Serano and Washington Township is coming off a New Jersey Group IV State Championship in the fall, defeating Morris Knolls, 2-0, at Kean University.

As a senior this past fall, Serano scored 18 goals to go with nine assists to help lead the Minutemen to the first state title since 2015. He was named All-Conference, All-South Jersey, and All-State throughout his career at Washington Township, earning three varsity letters.

Outside of Washington Township High School, Serano played for the Washington United Arsenal for the past four years, helping the team advance to the Regional Tournament. They were the New Jersey State Champions in 2018.

The Wildcats are coming off a 15-3-4 season this past fall, a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Regular Season Championship with a 9-1-2 record, and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA East Regional Tournament.
