Men’s Soccer Controls Third Spot in Latest Super-Region 1 Poll

NEWARK, Del. – With their postseason win in the beginning of the week, the Wilmington University men's soccer team was ranked third in the latest NCAA Division II Super Region 1 rankings which are conducted by the 2019 men's soccer Regional Advisory Committee.

Last week the men were tied for the third place spot, but were awarded the slot this week to themselves with an overall record of 15-1-1. Gannon took over the top spot in the Super Region 1 poll with a record of 16-1-1, beating out Adelphi who lost to American International last weekend and now has an overall record of 14-2-1.

Charleston (WV) earned the No. 4 spot behind the Wildcats with a record of 15-2-1, as Franklin Pierce rounded out the top five with a record of 13-3-1. The West Chester Rams (13-3-1) sit sixth in the poll with Mercy following behind them in the seventh spot with a record of 12-3-2. Norte Dame (OH) comes into this week's poll eighth with the same record as Mercy.

CACC foe Post takes over the No. 9 spot as they defeated Dominican in the first round of the CACC Tournament on Monday to move to 11-3-3 overall. Southern New Hampshire remains in the mix in the 10th spot with a 9-4-4 record, as Millersville (11-5-2) and Molloy (12-5-1) round out the final two spots in the poll.

The Wildcats will head to Waterbury, Connecticut for the CACC Semifinals on Friday to take on Georgian Court at 11 a.m. at Post University.
