WATERBURY, Conn. - - LaMoy Field proved yet again to be a tough place to play as the No. 9 Wilmington University men's soccer team lost, 1-0, to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rival Post on Saturday afternoon.

The loss snaps the Wildcats 11-game unbeaten streak, the best start to a season in program history.

The offense was slow to get going on Saturday as the Wildcats (10-1-1, 4-1 CACC) only mustered four shots on the afternoon, with only one being on frame. The Eagles (3-5-1, 3-2 CACC) outshot the Wildcats, 8-4, including 6-1 in the second half.

Shoki Yoshida had a good opportunity in the 15th minute, but his attempt from atop the left side of the box sailed wide right of the goal.

Post got on the board in the 76th minute, turning a Wilmington turnover into a counter the other way. The Wildcats turned the ball over in their offensive zone, but allowed Post to move forward with a head of steam. Sergio Diaz found room on the left side and took the low shot. Konstantinos Parisis made the diving save to his left, but the rebound was knocked home by Giorgio Scarpecci for the 1-0 lead.

The Wildcats collected two corner kicks in the final 11 minutes, but couldn't get a shot off against the tough Eagles defense.

Parisis made three saves in the loss for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats have a week off before returning to CACC play next Saturday night. They head to Felician to complete their three-game road trip, with the opening whistle scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
