NEWARK, Del. - - Wilmington University junior Colby Wyatt has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) All-East Region Second Team, in a vote of the region's sports information directors.
A repeat honoree on the media's All-East Region Second Team, Wyatt (Harrington, Del.) helped pace the Wildcats to a 31-23 overall record and the third seed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament with a 20-6 league record. The junior was also a First Team All-CACC honoree earlier this season.
The first baseman led the Wildcats with 26 RBI on the years, hitting .306 with 10 doubles, two triples, and four home runs. The 10 doubles also tied for the most on the team and seventh in the CACC.
Wyatt collected a season high three hits in a 3-for-5 day at Philadelphia in game one. She also went 2-for-3 with two doubles against Lock Haven in Myrtle Beach and had a season high four RBI in game two against USciences in a 2-for-3 game with a homer.
CACC counterpart from Post University Samantha Esque was named the D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year while NYIT's Kat Zabielski was named the D2CCA East Region Player of the Year.
The 14 members of the D2CCA All-East Region First Team are automatically nominated for All-American status.
