NEWARK, Del. - - Freshman Rosa'Lynn Burton and sophomore Caitlyn Whiteside earned another postseason All-Region honor as they were both voted to the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioner Association (D2CCA) Softball All-East Region, as voted on by the region's sports information directors.

Burton (Dover, Del.) earned her second First Team All-Region honor after leading the East Region in multiple categories while Whiteside (Bermuda Dunes, Calif.) earned her second Second Team All-Region honor of the year after leading the Wildcats (36-21) in the circle.

The freshman outfielder broke multiple single season records for the Wildcats at the plate this season, including batting average (.463), hits (88), runs (57), triples (7), total bases (117), and stolen bases (45). Burton led the entire East Region in runs scored and stolen bases, and is third overall with her .463 batting average. Her 45 stolen bases rank fourth most in all of NCAA Division II. Burton led the team with 29 multiple hit games, including four four-hit games, and four three-hit games. She also had a season high 19-game hitting streak at one point during the season.

The sophomore pitcher tied the program's single season mark of 19 wins while setting a new program record of 13 complete game shutouts. Whiteside finished 19-11 overall with one save, pithing 179.2 innings on the season, finishing the year with a 1.64 earned run average. She struck out 94 batters while only allowing 24 walks. Her 13 shutouts rank seventh most in NCAA Division II leading into the Super Regionals. She was also a Second Team NFCA All-East Region and First Team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference member.

Adelphi's Brenna Martini was named the 2017 D2CCA Softball East Region Player of the Year while Caldwell's Sydney Ponto was named the 2017 D2CCA Softball East Region Pitcher of the Year.

First Team All-Region members are automatically nominated for the D2CCA Softball All-America program. The 2017 D2CCA Softball All-America Teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 24 prior to the NCAA Division II Championships.
