Softball Head Coach Mike Shehorn Announces Winter Skills Clinics for January 21

NEWARK, Del. - - Wilmington University softball head coach Mike Shehorn has announced the addition of two Winter Skills Clinics in January to be held at the WU Athletics Complex.

The Wildcats' coaching staff will welcome interested participants on January 21 to the WU Athletics Complex on Pulaski Highway. The clinics are broken down according to age group, with the first sessions aimed for girls in grades 8-12. The afternoon session is geared towards softball girls in grades 2-7. The cost to attend a clinic is $50.00 and will encompass both offensive and position specific skills.

The first clinic for girls in grades 8-12 will run from 11:00-1:00 p.m. and will be split equally between the defensive and offensive side of the ball.

The second clinic for girls in grades 2-7 will run from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and will also be split equally between the defensive and offensive side of the ball.

All participants are required to bring their own softball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, running or turf shoes, hat/visor, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. The clinics will either be in the gym (turf shoes), or outside on the turf depending on the weather.
