Rosa’Lynn Burton Named a Top 25 Finalist for 2018 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - Wilmington University softball standout has been selected as a Top-25 Finalist for the 2018 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year award. The winner will be announced following the conclusion of the 2018 season.

The group of 25 student-athletes is represented by 20 different programs and 13 conferences. Ten student-athletes from the original Top 50 "Watchlist" made the cut, one being Burton, with the final group consisting of nine seniors, eight juniors, seven sophomores, and one freshman.

Burton currently leads the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with 80 hits, 49 runs, and 39 stolen bases. The sophomore is currently in the league with six triples, 113 total bases, a .465 batting average, and a .518 on-base percentage.

The CACC has two student-athletes on the Top 25, as Georgian Court's Samantha Reilly also made the list. She was named the CACC Player of the Year and leads the CACC with a .512 batting average, 23 home runs, and 62 RBI.

The Top 10 finalists will be announced on May 15 with the 2018 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year revealed on June 4.
