Softball in the CACC Championship

May 5, 2019

The Wilmington University softball team needed to win three games on Saturday to win the CACC Tournament Championship, including two games against top seed and host Georgian Court University. They did just that to claim their third CACC Tournament Championship (2014, 2016, and 2019) in program history. The winner-take-all championship game took nine innings, but a Kiana Broderson-Jones single in the top half proved to be the game-winner. CACC Pitcher of the Year Caitlyn Whiteside was named the CACC Tournament MVP while Rosa'Lynn Burton, Kiana Broderson-Jones, and Annie Davila joined her on the All-Tournament Team. The Wildcats will now await their seeding into the NCAA East Regional Tournament. Copyright 2019; Wilmington University. All rights reserved.
