Mike Shehorn Announces Pair of Wilmington Softball Clinics Scheduled in August

MUST NOTE: all participants must show proof of vaccination or a negative test result within five (5) days of the clinic date.

NEW CASTLE, Del. - - The Wilmington University softball program, led by NCAA East Regional II Tournament Champion head coach Mike Shehorn, has announced registration for a pair of clinics at Asbury Field in August is now live.

The two one-day camps will be on the weekend of August 20-21 geared toward two different age groups. Shehorn welcomes all girls going into grades 2-8 on Saturday, August 20 to take part in an All Skills Camp from 9:30 to 12:30. Shehorn will then run a Softball ID Clinic on Sunday, August 21 from 9:30 to 1:00 p.m. for all girls entering grades 9-12.

ALL SKILLS CAMP ($80):
This clinic will be run with high energy and is intended for those who have some playing experience at the travel ball or high school level. 

Participants will receive quality instruction on footwork and agility, throwing and catching fundamentals, hitting, slapping, and bunting techniques, base running, and position play from the WU coaching staff.

SOFTBALL ID CLINIC ($100):
This clinic is for softball players who are looking to play at the next level. This clinic will be run with high energy and is intended for those who have some playing experience at the travel ball or high school level. 

Participants will get an inside look at how the Wilmington University softball program practices daily. The coaches will work with campers on advanced defensive drills, including glovework, footwork, and position play. Campers will also get instruction on hitting, slapping, and bunting with a focus on the proper fundamentals of each offensive area.

All participants are required to bring their own softball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, running or turf shoes, hat/visor, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear.
