A program record four student-athletes were named All-Region in five events for the Wilmington University track & field team following an impressive 2022 spring outdoor season.
The 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship runner-up Wilmington University men’s track and field team placed five Wildcats on the CACC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office.
The 2021-22 Academic All-District Men’s Track and Field / Cross Country Teams were announced and three Wilmington University standout student-athletes were selected in a vote by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, and throwers competed at the Townson Invitational in Towson, Maryland. The Wilmington University Track & Field Team kicked off their 2022 season campaign at the Llyod Sigler Spring hosted by Salisbury University. The women’s Track & Field team scored a total of 22 points. Sophomore Layla Hunt started the day with a 4.71-meter-long jump, which was good for 5th place, two points, and with the jump, Hunt has qualified for the CACC Championships in May. Freshman Jalah Turner took 9th place in the long jump with a distance of 4.46 meters which is .05 meters away from qualification standards for the conference championship meet.
The 2022 Wilmington University track & field schedule has been announced and the Wildcats will begin their season Saturday, March 5 at Salisbury University.
