LAKEWOOD, N.J. - - The Wilmington University Track & Field Team will compete in their third CACC Championship on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8.
The Wildcats have 19 total individuals (Men, 14 & Women, 5) for the CACC Championships in their respective events: CLICK HERE to see the full list of the Wildcats who qualified, the event they are in, their best time/distance on the year, and where they stack up against the rest of the CACC. This is the fourth year for Head Coach of both the Men's and Women's side, Coach Christian Stamm, as he leads the team into the weekend.

Scouting the Wilmington University Wildcats:
Men
The Wilmington University Men's Track & Field Team enjoyed a regular season of firsts and shattering the program record books. The team enjoyed winning their first-ever invitational in the program's young history. The men accomplished this feat in their first meet of the season at the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet on Saturday, March 5. They also added a second overall team victory at the Golden Ram Invitational on April 9.
Individually, Tyler Levons's times for the sprints have paved the way for the 'Cats. Levons comes into this weekend second overall in the 100-meter dash (10.67 seconds), second in the 200-meter dash (21.69 seconds), and third in the 400-meter dash (50.21 seconds). Matthew Hibbert is right behind him in the 100-meter dash, ranked fourth with a time of 10.85 seconds.
On the distance side, Daniel Wyshinski is ranked third in the 10,000-meter run (33:29.34) and third in the 5,000-meter run (15:41.25). Matt Gonzalez is ranked third in the 1,500-meter run (4:02.64) and Michael Dowd is ranked third in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase (10:11.80).
On the field side of things, Akeel Blake had an impressive year as only a freshman. Blake ranks first in the long jump (7.23 meters), which is three centimeters away from the NCAA Division II Provisional Mark. Blake also ranks second in the high jump (1.98 meters) and fifth in the triple jump (13.91 meters).
Josh Varghese has continued his strong numbers from last year's season. Varghese ranks first in the discus throw (45.35 meters), second in the hammer throw (47.29 meters), and fourth in the shot put (14.41 meters).
Shemar Parker comes into Saturday ranked fourth in the pole vault (4.05 meters) and on the track second in the 400-meter hurdles (57.10 seconds).
Women
The Wilmington University Women's Track & Field Team qualified five athletes for this weekend of the CACC Championships. Their best results as a team came with a fourth-place finish at the Golden Ram Invitational on April 9. They also enjoyed a successful day at the Penn Relays, where the team consisting of Layla Hunt, Lina, Boussif, Jalah Turner, and Kharonay Brown turned in the best 4x400 relay time of the year.
Individually, Layla had a terrific first year in a Wildcat uniform. Hunt was able to put her name down in the record books for both hurdle events (100-meter hurdles & 400-meter hurdles). Hunt ranks seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.90 seconds and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.07. Hunt also qualified in the long, with her best leap of 4.83-meters.
Kharonay Brown has also qualified for three events. Brown ranks 12th in the 100-meter hurdles (16.60 seconds), 17th in the 400-meters (1:01.43), and 23rd in the 200-meter dash (27.12 seconds).
Lina Boussif has qualified for two events for the weekend. Boussif finds herself in placing a position in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase, ranking seventh (14:46.33). Boussif also qualified for the Hammer Throw with a best toss of 22.10 meters.
Angel Oliver has the potential to break into the top 8, as Oliver ranks 10th in the high jump (1.45 meters). Jalah Turner ranks 18th in the 100-meter dash (13.19 seconds) and 26th in the 400-meter (1:03.61).
