The win was the sixth straight for the Tigers after losing the first three games of the season. The Wildcats have dropped each of the last four games overall.

Zameria Jones gave the Wildcats an early 10-6 lead with a layup with 16:22 to play in the first half while Carr kept the margin at four with another layup two minutes later to lead 12-8. The Tigers took a brief 16-14 lead with four straight points before Tashea Plummer hit a jumper to tie the match for the sixth time, 16-16, in the opening 9:10 of the contest. But the Tigers went ahead with a putback layup by Erin Fennigham with 10:36 remaining in the half and never looked back.

Since the tied game, 16-16, the Tigers went on a 32-17 run to close out the half, taking a 48-33 lead into the halftime break.

The second half lead ballooned to as large as 73-43 with 11:56 left for the Tigers before the Wildcats cut the deficit to as few as 22 points in the rest of the game. A Cari Callaway jumper in the final minute settled the score at 93-70 in favor of the Tigers.

Jones led the Wildcats with 17 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists. Spence scored 10 points to round out the double digit scorers for the Wildcats. Carr's double-double contributions came off the bench for the Wildcats.

Wilmington shot 39 percent from the floor (30-for-77) for the game, including 40 percent in the first half. But the Tigers forced the Wildcats into 21 turnovers and shot 42.1 percent from the floor for the game. The Tigers also went to the line 32 times, making 23, while the Wildcats went 9-of-16 from the foul line for the game.
