Fourth Quarter Run Gives Lock Haven 81-73 Victory over Women’s Basketball

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - - A big fourth quarter allowed Lock Haven to slip past the Wilmington University women's basketball team, 81-73, on Tuesday night inside Thomas Fieldhouse.

With the game at a one-point difference heading into the final quarter, 55-54, Lock Haven (3-1) grabbed momentum and outscored the Wildcats (0-6), 26-19, in the fourth quarter to pull away with the nonconference victory.

Jadyn Whitsitt led the Wildcats with 21 points, shooting 6-of-12 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the foul line. She also grabbed seven rebounds, four of which came on the offensive glass. Kiara Eubanks added 14 points and five rebounds while Jaelyn Durrett chipped in with 13 points with two three-pointers.

Macy Robinson scored 11 points with three three-pointer while grabbing five rebounds as well. Nyree Grant came off the bench to score 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting, adding a team-high eight rebounds.

The Wildcats shot 37.9 percent from the floor (25-for-66) but just 12-of-39 (30.8 percent) in the second half. They went 3-for-14 from beyond the three-point arc in the second half. Lock Haven shot 41.2 percent from the floor, including 53.6 percent (15-of-28) in the second half.
