PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Twenty three-pointers made throughout the contest by No. 16 University of the Sciences made way for an 80-51 win over the Wilmington University women's basketball team Saturday afternoon at the Bobby Morgan Arena in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division matchup.

The hot handed Devils (24-3, 17-1 CACC) shot 50 percent from behind the three point line, making way for 20 of their 40 attempted shots from long range, as the Wildcats (5-20, 5-12 CACC) were just 3-8 from the three-point line.

USciences would jump out to a seven point lead with 5:21 to play in the first quarter, but LaShyra Williams was able to put it to within six with 2:17 left on a shot in the paint to make it a 13-7 game going into the second. Wilmington struggled to find the basket in the quarter, shooting just 18.8 percent from the floor.

The Devils would sink a three-pointer to start the second half to go up nine, before Kasha Andrews put it back to within six on a three-pointer with 6:06 to go. Four straight three-pointers by the Devils would extend their lead to 13 with over two minutes to play, before another deep ball gave them a 36-19 lead to end the first half.

Kiara Eubanks would open up the third quarter off a Devils turnover that led to a fast break to put the deficit to 14, but USciences would keep the hot hand, going 7-10 from behind the arc in the quarter to extend out to a 28-point lead. Jadyn Whitsitt and LaShyra Williams made back-to-back baskets to end the third quarter for the Wildcats, to make it a 23-point game with the Devils in front, 60-37.

WilmU would get the deficit back to 20, three times by a Sabreen Muslim free throw, a Williams made basket, and an Emily Ansah layup in the paint with 6:38 to play in regulation, but the Devils would go on a 10-0 run to bring their lead back to 30 with 1:46 to play.

The Wildcats were led by LaShyra Williams who finished with 19 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Kiara Eubanks added 10 points throughout 40 minutes played, while Sabreen Muslim tied her season-high of 15 rebounds, to go along with eight points.
