PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - - A big second quarter aided Holy Family in splitting the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference season series with the Wilmington University women's basketball team on Tuesday night, taking the South Division game, 73-34, at the Campus Center.

The win evens the season series between the two squads, as the Wildcats (1-13, 1-8 CACC) battled back to defeat the Tigers (12-10, 7-6 CACC) 69-64, on December 4 at the WU Athletics Complex.

There would be no comeback by the Wildcats on Tuesday night, however, as the Tigers jumped out to a large first half lead and coasted to the finish line. The Tigers scored 27 consecutive points spanning the last 24 seconds of the first quarter and the entire second quarter. The Tigers led 40-6 at the halftime break.

Layla Hunt put an end to the scoring drought with a layup with 8:19 left in the third quarter and then the Wildcats went on a 6-2 run. Sabreen Muslim put in an offensive rebound at the end of the quarter, but the Wildcats were still down 58-22 after three quarters.

The Tigers stretched the lead to as large as 66-24, winning the fourth quarter, 15-12, to take the contest, 73-34.

The Wildcats were hindered by 19 first half turnovers, as the Tigers converted them into 23 points at the other end of the court in the first 20 minutes. The Wildcats only committed five turnovers in the second half of the game.

Sabreen Muslim came off the bench to lead the Wildcats with 12 points while adding six rebounds. Emily Ansah scored eight points while leading the team with eight rebounds as well. Daja Claiborne scored six points while adding five rebounds. All 10 Tigers that played scored for the home team.

The Wildcats return home for their next contest, as they host Caldwell on Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex. Tip-off against the Cougars is set for 1:00 p.m.
