CC Riojas Makes All-Tournament Team in Leading Bowling to Second Place Finish at Bowl for the Cure

DOUGLASSVILLE, Pa. - - The Wilmington University bowling team closed out the Molloy Bowl for the Cure tournament with a Baker filled Sunday, finishing second overall while going 4-1 on the day. Freshman CC Riojas earned a spot on the All-Tournament as well on Sunday, finishing second overall.

The Wildcats knocked down a total of 4,715 pins in five matches, averaging a score of 188.6 per game. They went 4-1 overall, defeating Kutztown, Molloy, Mercyhurst, and Bloomfield.

Sunday started with a 905-888 victory over Kutztown before the 'Cats backed that up with a 918-900 victory over host Molloy. The Wildcats had their best match to that point against #13 Mount St. Mary's, but the Mounties won the match, 1,006-944. But the Wildcats responded with their best match of the day, and the third best Baker match in program history with a 1,018-863 victory over Mercyhurst.

The Wildcats were atop the standings after four matches with a 3,785 total pin-fall, with only Bloomfield left on the schedule. The Wildcats won the match, 930-761, but Adelphi overtook the Wildcats for first place with a score of 975 in its final match. Wilmington was five pins ahead of Adelphi going into the final match.

Freshman CC Riojas earned a spot on the All-Tournament on Sunday, finishing second overall with a 20.69 Baker Frame average.

The Wildcats will take a weekend off and then get back to action on Valentine's Day, as they head to Towson, Maryland to take part in the James Brown Invitational hosted by Morgan State.
