Bowling Moves Up to No. 23 in Latest NTCA National Top 25

NEWARK, Del. - - As the fourth year Wilmington University bowling team continues to grow and improve, its ranking in the national scene continues to grow as well, moving up a spot to No. 23 in the latest The National Tenpin Coaches Association National Poll.

Through results as of February 23, the Wildcats are 48-30 in head-to-head battles, and earned 111 points to move up one spot to No. 23 overall. The Wildcats were selected 24th in the February poll, sliding into the National Rankings for the first time in program history.

McKendree remains at No. 1 in the country, earning 41 first place votes and 1,637 points overall with an 82-17 head-to-head record. Sam Houston State remains at No. 2 with one first place vote while Nebraska picked up the final first place vote and remains in third. The top six teams did not change from last month. Duquesne jumped up from 10th to a three-way tie with seventh overall after a big month.

The Wildcats are the second East Coast Conference (ECC) team in the polls, as Adelphi moved up two spots to No. 18 this month. The Wildcats slid ahead of Lincoln Memorial, as the Railsplitters are now No. 24.

The Wildcats have one more weekend of play before the postseason, as they host the Northeast Region Roundup starting Saturday. The two-day tournament will be hosted at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
