Malia Stout Named ECC Bowler of the Week

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. - - Graduate student Malia Stout's performance during her Senior Day sendoff at the Wildcat DII/DIII Invite proved to be enough to be named the East Coast Conference Bowler of the Week on Thursday, as announced by the conference office.

Stout (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) helped lead the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish, but propelled the team to its best day of scores on Saturday during five Traditional matches. The Wildcats went 5-0 on Saturday and entered Bracket play in first place.

But her weekend started strong with Baker play, leading the team with a 20.29 Baker frame average and an average first ball score of 9.03. She had 40 strikes on 80 attempts in the five Baker matches.

On Saturday, she had a record day in leading the Wildcats. She had the second best five-match pinfall score of 1,109 while bowling the second-best individual match in program history with a 276 against New Jersey City. She finished with a 221.80 average while she reached the 200-pin mark in all five of her matches. She finished second overall to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

She finished with a 62.0 strike percentage on the day and led the tournament with a 21.03 overall frame average.

Stout and the Wildcats will head to the Hawk Flight Invite this weekend, hosted by Monmouth University in Hamilton, New Jersey.
